Account deletion

Deleting your Relive account.

You can delete your account, and everything you have made with it, from inside the app in about fifteen seconds. This page explains how, exactly what goes, and the one thing that stays.

How to delete it, in the app

Deletion happens in the Relive app — you do not need to email anyone or wait for us to action it.

  • Open Relive and make sure you are signed in.
  • On Home, tap the avatar in the bar at the bottom of the screen.
  • Tap Delete account.
  • Read what is about to go, type DELETE in the box to confirm, and tap Delete my account.

That is the whole flow. It happens immediately and it cannot be undone — nothing is archived, and nothing can be restored afterwards, by you or by us.

What is deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

  • Your account — your name, your email address, and the sign-in attached to them.
  • Every event you host, including the ones that have already finished.
  • Every photograph in those events — the ones you took and the ones your guests took, whether the album has opened or is still sealed. The stored originals and every generated size are removed from our storage too.
  • The guest list, the payment records and the notification registrations belonging to those events.

Your guests lose access to those albums at the same moment you do. If anyone wants to keep the photographs from an event you host, download the album before you delete the account.

What is kept, and why

Photographs you took as a guest at somebody else’s event stay in that event. They are part of that host’s album, alongside everybody else’s, and removing them would take frames out of an album that is not yours to change.

Your name is detached from them when your account goes, so they are no longer connected to you. If you want a specific photograph taken out of someone else’s album, ask that host — it is theirs to remove.

If you cannot open the app

Lost the phone, uninstalled it, or can no longer sign in? Email hello@relive.cam from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account. We will confirm it is you, delete everything above, and write back to tell you it is done. Allow up to 30 days, though in practice it is far quicker.

Retention

We do not keep a copy of a deleted account or its events. Deletion removes the records immediately; the stored image files are cleared straight afterwards. Ordinary server backups may hold fragments for a short period before they roll over, and we do not restore deleted accounts from them.
